Ear Piercing
- At what age is a child ready to have pierced ears?
Any age, but those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a
parent or legal guardian.
- Who should not get their ears' pierced?
Anyone with sensitive skin problems such as eczema, children who
are sick (i.e. cold or flu).
- Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, that is preferred.
- What types of earrings are available?
A wide variety of styles are available. Surgical steel and 14k
gold are recommended depending on skin sensitivity and personal
preference.
- Do boys get an ear pierced?
Yes
- Does it matter which ear a boy gets pierced?
No
- What time period is recommended for keeping the
original earrings in, and what sort of care is required?
For best results, it is recommended to keep the original
earrings in for 8 weeks. The ear(s) should be cleansed with alcohol and
the earrings should be turned twice daily. Earrings should not be
removed anytime during this period.
